Common Name: Garlic
Scientific Name: Allium sativum L.
Other names: Kitunguu Saumu
Garlic can be planted using cloves, bulbils, seeds or tissue culture (TC) material. Cloves are the most preferred material used in planting garlic owing to its ease of use, shorter maturity period and yield. They are usually referred to as garlic seed.
Target Areas of Production include: Bungoma, Busia, Kakamega and Vihiga.
